The City Of Waynesville recently purchased the CodeRed Emergency Notification System (known as CodeRed) to alert the citizens in the case of emergency situations, including weather warnings or urgent notifications. The CodeRed system geographically based and allows the city/county to alert citizens based on their location with a pre-recorded message about the specific situation and if any action is necessary.

CodeRed will only be used for emergency situations to keep you informed. The CodeRed system is free and simple to sign up for, and your contact information remains private and will only be used for community notifications.

On 02/27/2018 the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department Detectives Unit was alerted to a child molestation case. Following an investigation Roger Jones was arrested and charged with Child Molestation 1st Degree, Statutory Sodomy/Attempt-Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a person less than 14 years of age. Additional charges include Incest. Jones is being held at the Pulaski County Jail on a $500,000 cash or surety bond set by Judge Colin Long.

Fugitive Richard "Romel" Taylor Caputred

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department Detectives Unit has been in close contact the last 24 hours with Federal Marshalls after receiving a lead that Taylor was located on the east side of Chicago, Illinois. Today at 11:53am, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was notified by Federal Marshalls that Richard “Romel” Taylor was in custody for the charges of Murder First Degree and Armed Criminal Action against Sherry Gann, Murder First Degree and Armed Criminal Action against Johnathan Graham, Armed Criminal Action and Assault First Degree against Cassandra Gann and Assault First Degree against David Reeves. All charges are Class A felonies. Taylor is also being held on a Federal Parole Violation for distribution.

June 23, 2018

On 06/23/2018 at approximately 2234 hours Pulaski County Deputies responded to the 19000 block of Brownville Road in Crocker for a reported shooting incident. Upon arrival Deputies discovered a 23 year old white male was deceased from a gunshot wound. During the course of the investigation a suspect was identified and arrested. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department will provide more information on this shooting after the next of kin of the victim have been notified.
